Luna is the only natural satellite of Earth.
History[]
The first settlements on Luna were established from 2018 to 2024 to serve as mining colonies in the construction of space habitats as well as domes which grow hydroponic wheat for the people of Earth. In 2032, the outpost of Storm City was established to ferry supplies to the habitats during their construction.
In 2048, the first residential colony was established in the Sea of Tranquility. Known as Tranquility, the city was meant to serve as a permanent home for the miners and their families. Not long after, the cities of New Berlin and Armstrong City were established to serve as supply ports for the colonization of Mars.
During and following World War III, Luna became one of locations where refugees went to to escape the devastation caused by the war. This population influx led to the expansion of several outposts into major cities and the expansion of Luna's economy.
By the 27th century, Luna had become home to 10 Million people spread between eight cities. Luna has also been known for being a port between Earth and the rest of the Sol system.
