The Chandir are a humanoid species originally native to the planet Chand-Arand.
In the early-24th century, the Chandir homeworlds core was showing signs of collapse. With no way to reverse the process, the Chandir had begun to turn to the Terran Federation for solutions such as terraforming planets for new colonies. Following the destruction of Chand-Arand, several Chandir refugees settled in Terran Federation space.
