The Bekkir are a humanoid species native to the planet Bekkir.
Their government is known for having a Monarch as a ceremonial role, with a Prime Minister serving as the planets government. The legislative body of the planet is known as Parliament, with representatives from many noble houses.
In 2614, their Prime Minister, Monarch and her son were assassinated when the Bekkir Royal Palace was bombed by an unknown force. During a meeting of Parliament in 2620, the two houses had begun to argue whether a new Monarch should be chosen or that Bekkir be converted into a democracy. Supporters of the Commons had begun to protest for the democracy and took up arms in favor of the Commons. This led to a civil war which engulfed the entire planet.
